Bali: Indo-National Restaurant  - Great Food & Friendly Atmosphere - Aussie Owned, Aussie Hygeine

A Little Something About The Owners - Kerry & Milton Turner

February 2002 - They moved to Bali from the Central Coast of NSW where Milton was Secretary Manager of Halekulani Bowling Club and Kerry had worked as a pre-school Teacher for the last 15 years, they have 5 children and a Grandson. On the 9th November 2002 they started to renovate their Restaurant and Opened on the 20th December 2002. They had always visited and loved Bali with a passion this being one of many reasons for moving to this paradise island. They have had many challenges since making the decision to move “The Bomb”, “The War” and “Sar’s” but decided to live their Dream of Owning a Restaurant in Bali. They had 14 Staff working for them 7 Front Staff & 7 Kitchen Staff.

Update 2006
Despite the “Tsunami” another “Bomb” and the collapse of “Air Paradise”, three years on they have taken a 10-year lease on their new Premises in Jl Padma 17 Legian Kuta. After major renovations they opened on the 7th February 2006.

They now have 24 Balinese staff plus Trainee’s all coming from the old restaurant and they still have the original 14 staff. Their head Chef Pak Komang has been with them since opening and he is proud to offer his unique style of cooking. They still have live entertainment Monday Wednesday Friday & Saturday.

They have met a wide variety of people from all over the world and many of them they are very pleased to call their friends.

Take away cocktailsNunya Miller says - A great way to enjoy a friendly drink during the day and a few drinks with dinner at night. A few years ago 13 of us decided to celebrate my 50th birthday in Bali. A friend recommended the Indo-National Restaurant. Milton, Kerry and the staff made us feel so welcome that we didn't bother dining in our Resort restaurant after the first night. The hygeine is impeccable and the food is sensational with local taste. It is definitely worth a try. All food is prepared fresh and whatever you do, try not to miss out on the Chilli Mudcrab. You will definitely be back for more. (It pays to book your mudcrab)

Stopping in during the day for a snack or quick Bintang, make sure you grab a take-away cocktail on the way out to do your shopping. Complete with straw wrapped in a plastic bag and ice to keep it refreshing and the heat away. I am sure that Milton and Kerry will make you feel very welcome with a few funny yarns. Let me know your feedback if you agree with me. We (those pictured) are heading back in October and I am looking forward to my double muddies.........
